The MBA in Disaster Management is a 2 years postgraduate course designed to equip the students with knowledge on how to manage disasters and emergencies. MBA Disaster Management teaches about different forms of disasters, their cause and impact, risk evaluation and mitigation, and planning of various phases of Disaster Management. The students are able to conduct practice evacuation, estimate the extent of damage, plan and conduct relief operations, decide on the allocation of resources and make rational decisions under pressure. It prepares graduates to be leaders and manage risks in government and nonprofit organizations, humanitarian organizations, as well as business entities that conduct business in dangerous areas.
The common entrance tests that are accepted for MBA Disaster Management are CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, CMAT, and GMAT. Some of the colleges also take into account the performance of candidates in the test such as CAT,XAT and CMAT combined with their academic background,experience and performance in the interviews and group discussions during the selection criterion for admissions. Further, a couple of institutes provide direct admission to students on graduation marks to those candidates having work experience in the related field of disaster management or risk management. Academic documents of the candidate, valid passport, IELTS scores and TOEFL scores are mandatory for international students.
