The MBA in Production Management is a two years full time MBA Course. The courses that are relevant to the curriculum are operations strategy, quality management, supply chain management, project management, and production planning. Students gain understanding of concepts and techniques necessary for planning, controlling, directing and monitoring the processes of turning inputs such as materials, labor, machines etc into outputs such as goods, services, etc in different sectors. Their education goal is to enhance the techno-managerial skills of its graduates to tackle dynamic business issues within the production function.
The entrance tests allowed for the admission to MBA (Production Management) for all the B-schools are CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, and GMAT. Several institutes also take into consideration the performance of candidates in the bachelor’s degree course. Aspirants need to write institute specific test like GD, PI, case analysis etc for being shortlisted and work experience could be another requirement for some b-schools offering this specialisation. Candidates in the technical disciplines such as B.Tech, BE are preferred for this course.

1. The candidate should possess minimum 50% marks in any discipline from a recognized university for a bachelor’s degree. It is assumed that candidates have certain level of familiarity with management ideas.
2. Final Year graduate students also have the opportunity to apply for the job. Admission will be provisional till the final mark sheet is produced.
3. No restrictions are applied in this respect and the age of the subject depicted does not matter. It is open to fresh graduates and professionals with a minimum of 2 years’ working experience.
4. The tests like CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA/CMAT are mandatory since most institutes require valid scores in management aptitude/entrance tests. Besides, few Institutes do have their own test for admission.
5. An application that includes a statement of purpose of why you wish to take this specialization is required. Another thing that is considered important is the relevance of the internship or project.
