M.Com (Accountancy) stands for Master of Commerce in Accountancy, and it is a postgraduate program in commerce and accountancy. These are advanced concepts in accounting, taxation, auditing and finance which can be covered in this two-year course. The curriculum also offers detailed understanding about the financial reporting, management accounting, accounting standards, corporate governance and many related areas. Accounting courses show students how to record business transactions, create statement, and interpret them for managerial purposes and provide knowledge on the use of accounting software. 

Some of the examinations discussed above for admission into M.Com are CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, and state level exams. The exam dates are usually around December up to February of the following year. These schedules are important - Registration for CAT and MAT, usually in August September The actual exams are conducted from November to February. The CMAT registration is normally done in the month of November while the exam is usually in the last week of February.

MCom Accountancy Course Eligibility 2024

1. For Freshers: Pass in graduate degree in commerce or business administration with 50% aggregate marks. 

2. Mathematics or Business Mathematics is one of the subjects that is needed when pursuing ones degree at university level.

3. Working experience is needed in many universities after graduation from these universities for 2-3 years in accounting or in a related field. 

4. Additional tests and entrance examination such as CAT or MAT may be necessary to get admitted to premier institutes.

5. Good communication skills in terms of oral, written, and computing skills is expected by most of the institutes and universities. 

6. A good command of English language is important because it is used as medium of instructions for most of the M.Com programmes in India.
