The MFT Foreign Trade Course is a post graduate course of duration of two years with the primary aim of providing the students with knowledge on the fields of international business and trade. Based on the above details, the main goal or purpose of the course is to produce skilled human resource which are capable to manage operation in export houses, logistic firms, customs and other international trade related firms. Full time MFT course is completed in two years consisting of four semesters of teaching. Some of the subjects that are taught in this course are: Export-Import Management, Foreign Trade Policy of India, Logistics Management, Trade Finance, Entrepreneurship Development, and more.
CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, CMAT, GMAT and the state level common entrance tests are accepted for admission in the MFT course. Graduation scores are also used by many institutes as an admission criterion. Another factor that is considered during admission is work experience and some colleges consider it during the admission process. Candidates who have passed their UG examination in streams such as Economics, Commerce, Business Administration with a minimum of 50 percent can apply for the course. The ability to communicate in English is a prerequisite requirement in the admission process of MFT.

1. Candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 50% marks from any university recognized by the university. The graduate degree can be in arts, science, engineering, commerce, etc.
2. Two years of work experience in export-import business after the completion of the graduation is mandatory. This encompasses prior work exposure preferably in a manufacturing/trading/export house or in export departments of organizations.
3. You should have a fair understanding of subjects like economics, accountancy, marketing etc Since it provides a basic understanding of topics associated with the foreign trade.
4. English language skills in terms of reading, writing, speaking and listening are important qualification for applicants. This is important in the comprehension of study materials and messages in export business.
5. It is imperative that an individual has essential typing and computer skills. They require you to utilize various tools such as MS office, email, etc. effectively. Skills to research online are also needed in an appropriate manner.
