M.Sc (System Security) is a master’s degree course in computer science what incorporates topics such as cryptography, network security, information security, cyber security, ethical hacking, cyber forensics. This is a 2 year full-time course where candidate acquires advanced knowledge and skills in protecting computer systems, networks, programs, and data from unauthorized access or attack. The subjects covered include the latest techniques and technologies including risk assessment, security architectures, intrusion, how to handle security incidents.
The following important entrance exams are recognized for admission into the M.Sc System Security program and these include GATE (Computer Science), CEED, UGC NET, SET/SLET. It is also common that institutes accept valid scores on some standard exams like GRE, TOEFL, IELTS for admissions particularly for international students. Most colleges do not spend money organizing their own tests so as to shortlist students for the program.
