M.Sc (Anesthesia) is a two years post graduate master’s degree program to anesthesia and pain management specializations. The program enhances the knowledge and skills in the area of anesthesiology that is meant to produce competent personnel. The subjects they cover are principles of anesthesia, clinical anesthesia, intensive care, pain management, methods of research, biostatistics. This program is offered for 2 years full time, semester system comprising of 4 semesters in total. There are also 3 years’ part-time program in some institutes on condition that the student is already employed.
Entrance exams acceptable throughout India are NEET PG that is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses conducted by the National Board of Examinations, AIIMS PG that is All India Institute of Medical Sciences entrance examination, JIPMER PG that is the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research entrance exam, PGIMER that is the Passing in any of these exams along with passing an interview makes the students eligible and gives merit to join the institutions. The lowest qualifying criteria is the MBBS degree along with 1 year internship experience.

4. Aspirants have to qualify for entrance exam either at national or state level to be admitted to the college.
5. Diploma in anesthesiology holders can also apply for the course but first they have to complete their studentships.
6. Some institutes may offer group or personal interview prior to admitting suitable applicants to institutes.
