Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Cyber Security is a post graduate course that aims at equipping the student with knowledge and skills in cyber security that include the ability to secure computer systems, networks, programs and data from threats, compromise or malicious actions. The time that such a course usually takes is usually two academic years, this is so because most of the courses are designed to take two years to complete. Cyber Security course takes 2 years on full-time basis.
This paper also identifies the entrance examinations that are considered valid for admission into M.Sc. The Cyber Security courses in India are: GATE, National Eligibility Test (NET), Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or written examination followed by interview conducted by the individual universities. Combined with valid scores in graduation and relevant entrance exams, a candidate’s performance in graduation indicates the required aptitude to excel in advanced cyber security courses.
