M.Sc Geoinformatics is a two-year postgraduate program that involves GIS, Remote sensing, GPS, cartography, its uses, and other related technologies. This program is an interdisciplinary course that offers education and practical experience in geospatial data collection, storage, analysis, and modeling and visualization for applications on actual problems. The required courses are geospatial concepts, spatial analysis, image processing, programming, database design, web GIS, etc. In addition, students have the flexibility to choose specialization elective courses.
The common entrance exams accepted for admission to M.Sc Geoinformatics programs across colleges are: GATE (Geo-science), UGC NET (Geo-sciences), JEST, IIT JAM,CUSAT CAT, SAAT, UPSEE, WOSP, DUET, CUCET. Besides the students required valid scores in any of the mentioned examinations, they also have to clear an interview session for the field interest and interest aptitude test to get selected for the course in reputed institutes like IITs, NIT ACA also includes performance in any qualifying degree as one of the criteria for admission.
