M.Sc Inorganic Chemistry is master’s degree in inorganic chemistry which is offered to the students after the completion of their graduation. It is a 2-year full time program that focuses on inorganic compounds, transition metals, organometallics, reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, catalysis, solid state chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, etc The learning outcomes of the program are to build up the foundation of modern inorganic chemistry by having a strong course base of core courses, elective courses, seminar presentations, an advanced laboratory and research projects.

This normally takes two academic years, which is broken down to four semesters of M.Sc Inorganic Chemistry program. There are also some institutes which provide 5 years integrated M.Sc program and part-time / distance education facility. The candidates are selected through entrance tests, which include CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, IIT JAM, GATE, TIFR GS, and university level tests such as DUET, BHU PET, etc Some colleges take the performance of the candidates in Bachelors’ degree test for selection. The admission process starts with an Entrance Test.
