M.Sc. Meteorology is a postgraduate program that takes two years to complete and covers the scientific analysis of weather and atmospheric phenomena. For example, the curriculum comprises complex sections such as Weather analysis, Atmospheric physics, Satellite meteorology, Agrometeorology, Dynamic Meteorology. Students are trained in methods of forecasting, reading meteorological instruments, interpreting the synoptic maps, studying climate change through a combination of theory and practice sessions.
The recognised entrance exam for admission in the M.Sc. The Common Universities Entrance Test, Jawaharlal Nehru University Admission Test, state level tests like BHU PET and several other examinations. There are certain institutes which grant admission purely on the basis of scores obtained in bachelor’s examination. Some universities also accept UGC-NET, GATE and other national eligibility tests scores for admission to postgraduate meteorology.
