Master of Science [M.Sc] (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) is a two-year postgraduate level course that provides the core understanding of the pharmaceutical sciences and the application of the subject in the drug discovery, development and formulation. The program gives an opportunity to obtain profound knowledge and practical skills in organic, medicinal and analytical chemistry, drug design, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, quality control and regulation concerning the pharmaceutical industry.
The admission requirements for the M.Sc Pharmaceutical Chemistry involves holders of a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Chemistry. Some of the entrance examinations that are generally permissible for admission are: CUCET – Central Universities Common Entrance Test, GPAT – Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test, NIPER JEE – National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Joint Entrance Examination in the NIPER Mohali, BITSAT – Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test, and such tests of different colleges/universities.

1. A candidate must pass the Bachelor of Pharmacy/ pharmaceutical Science/ chemistry degree recognized by any University with 50-55% aggregate marks.
2. GPAT held once in a year with valid score card is desirable Qualifying exam like GPAT with valid score card. Certain institutes permit candidates to gain admission by acquiring a good score in the qualifying examination or entrance test.
3. The main prerequisites in most of the colleges are mathematics, physics and chemistry as main subjects in 10+2 examinations.
4. It is worth noting that some institutes may consider prior work experience in the relevant field in pharmaceuticals while offering admission.
5. Fluency in the English and mathematical skills are desirable in candidates, as is the ability to communicate well.
6. To get through this step candidates must clear the personal interview round that has been conducted by the institutes with an aim to evaluate the interests as well as the aptitude of the candidates.
1. CUCET: Central Universities Common Entrance Test for admission to central Universities, & for getting admission to the Central Universities an entrance test known as CUCET is held.
2. The entrance exam for admission to M.Pharm and PharmD programs is called GPAT or Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test which is conducted by NTA.
3. NIPER JEE :- National Level Common Entrance Test conducted by National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research for admission into the Master and Doctorate courses.
4. BHU PET: It stands for Banaras Hindu University Entrance Test and is taken for admission to the M.Pharm pharmaceutical chemistry course offered at BHU.
5. JNUEE is the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam for students applying for M.Sc in pharmaceutical chemistry admission.
