M.Phil. Mathematics is a level of postgraduate education in mathematics that usually takes about one to two years to complete. It entails further learning and research into certain fields of mathematics such as real analysis, complex analysis, algebra, topology, differential equations, numerical analysis. The intended outcomes of the program are to equip the students with extensive knowledge in mathematical theory, formulae and techniques so as to specialize in an academic career or engage in mathematical research.
This is the list of common entrance exams accepted for admission to M.Phil. In mathematics are CSIR UGC NET for Mathematical Sciences, GATE Mathematics and Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. Jammu and Kashmir Joint Admission Test (JAM), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) conducted for Mathematics, and state-level tests like Odisha Combined Pre-Master of Education Test (Odisha CPET). Some institutes also have there own written aptitude tests and Interviews for selection of the candidates.
