Ph.D. (Human Resource) is a course of study that is offered at the doctoral level and aims at deep research and analysis in the area of human resource management. Generally, a Ph.D. (Human Resource) takes three to five years to complete, with the primary objective of producing scholars with autonomous research and university-level teaching abilities. Master’s program is enriched with various specialized courses such as organizational behavior, training and development, compensation and benefits, recruitment strategies, labor relations, and HR metrics and analytics. The students grasp the theoretical and methodological frameworks required to evaluate the organization’s HR policies and practices, while focusing on a particular area of HRM throughout the dissertation.
Universities accept the following entrance tests for the Ph.D. (Human Resource) program; UGC NET Management, UGC NET Commerce, CAT, GMAT, and GRE. Able performance in these exams coupled with an evident scholarship, evident in the grades/percentages of postgraduate and undergraduate degrees would most probably be the bare minimum. The more the work experience an applicant has in the HR domain and the more number of publications that one has also assists him. 1. A postgraduate degree in business administration, human resource management or any other relevant field, having a minimum of 55 % marks or equivalent grade.
2. The details of the entrance examination will be qualifying in nature like UGC NET, GUJCET, etc., based on the university. Some universities also set their own tests for admission as well I think.
3. Write a brief research proposal that includes the area of interest you intend to focus on in reference to the supervisor’s area of expertise.
4. Submit two letters of recommendation from an academic source confirming research capabilities.
5. Require a candidate to have a work experience of at least two years in the Human Resources field.
6. Successfully pass an interview round, demonstrating a good motivation and desire for the program as well as the HR doctoral research interest. These are the general eligibility criteria, however more specific ones may apply depending on the specific university.

3. CMAT – Common Management Admission Test for management colleges do check your knowledge in quantitative techniques, Logical reasoning, language comprehension and General Awareness.
4. ATMA: AIMS Test for Management Admission for PGDM/MBA evaluates analytical reasoning, verbal ability, and quantitative ability.
5. XAT – Xavier Aptitude Test for XLRI comprises decision making test, quantitative ability test, data interpretation test, logical reasoning test and verbal ability test.
