The Ph.D. in Strategic Management is a 3-4 year program for those who have already completed a master’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis on the completion of research projects in the areas of business strategy and leadership. It provides students with a substantial body of knowledge and skills in strategy formulation, competitive analysis, decision-making tools, change management, and other related topics. In coursework, students learn knowledge about the most important publications about corporate strategy as well as modern trends and practices in the industry. Students also undertake dissertation research into a topic of their choice in strategic management area under the supervision of faculty staff. The intended purpose of the program is to foster strategic thinking in order to contribute to the development of theories and concepts in the field of business and to utilize this thinking in solving multi-faceted problems in international organizations.  

Permitted standard entrance tests for admission to the Strategic Management doctoral program are GRE and GMAT. Minimum GRE: 600 in both the verbal and the quantitative sections, and 4.0 in the analytical writing section; the minimum percentile range is between 60-80% . However, in terms of the calculated composite score, the minimum GMAT score expected for admission is above 550 points out of 800. Apart from test scores other factors which form part of the admission criteria include recommendation, statement of purpose, prior academic performance and GPA as well as relevant work experience in business or research. English proficiency is required for the applicants from non-English speaking countries irrespective of their desire to learn English.

Ph.D. (Strategic Management) Course Eligibility 2024

1. Minimum 55% marks in a master’s degree or its equivalent degree in any of the following disciplines – management, business administration, or any allied field.
