Ph.D in Geoinformatics is a postgraduate program to provide specialization in geographic information system, remote sensing, spatial analysis, cartography, and all other fields connected to geographical informatics. This Ph.D program usually takes 3 to 5 years to complete for full-time students, the first two years is devoted to coursework and research while the remaining one to three years is almost entirely devoted to preparation and submission of a doctoral thesis.
The Graduate Record Exam or GRE, and the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE are the standard entrance examinations that are accepted for admission to the Ph.D in Geoinformatics program. Some universities in India demand candidates to provide their GATE scores in a specific topic of interest such as Geography or Computer Science. This doctoral programme requires GRE General test scores from International universities for qualifying students.
