Ph.D. in Zoology is a doctoral education program that concentrates on the study of the behavior, endocrinology, heredity, systematization, environment and wildlife preservation of creatures. The normal period for completion of Ph.D. program is 4-6 years which encompasses course work and an exclusive research. Students are exposed to an array of upper-division classes including physiology of animals, cell biology, genetics, evolutionary biology and statistics to ensure they acquire sound knowledge in zoological concepts and research.
Generally, the entrance examination for getting into Ph.D. Zoology in India includes NET (National Eligibility Test), GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), JEST (Joint Entrance Screening Test) and other tests conducted by various institutes / universities. Some institutes may also set up their own Written Ability Tests and interviews to short list the candidates. Performance in these common national /state level tests proves the research ability that is needed for doctoral studies.
