Post Graduate Diploma in Organic Horticulture is a one-year diploma program, implemented to enhance the knowledge and skills in organic cultivation of vegetables, fruits, flowers, spices, plantation crops, medicinal and aromatic plants. Some of the areas of coverage include: soil fertility management in organic farming and the management of plant nutrition, production of seeds for organic farming, protection of organic plants, handling of produce after the harvest, certification and marketing of organically grown crops, value addition and food processing of organic products.
This means that anyone who has at least a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or Agriculture or in any related field can apply for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Organic Horticulture course. This qualification is also accepted by some of the institutes for candidates with a 10+2 with Biology qualification. Acknowledged entrance tests such as ICAR AIEEA PG/ University Ag Entrance Test/ Any State CET.

1. Minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, or any other related field secured with at least 50% marks from a reputed university.
2. Students who are in their last year of bachelor’s degree may also apply provisionally at the condition that they must present their final degree at the time of admission.
3. The course is open to any age of learning and there is no restriction as to how young or old one can be to apply for the course.
4. Qualifications: Applicants must have undertaken courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science etc in their first degree.
5. While selecting the candidature, the previous working experience in the related fields such as farming, gardening, nursery management etc.
6. Institute also have to conduct an entrance test and/or interview round which the candidate need to pass successfully in order to confirm their admission in the institute.
