Post Graduate Diploma in Venereology is 1 year diploma course dealing mainly with the sexually transmitted diseases and their related problems. The program intends to cover an overall understanding and approaches about the STIs in terms of clinical presentation, diagnosis, management, and prevention. The diseases’ study that includes in the course curriculum are syphilis, gonorrhoea, chancroid, HPV infection, HIV/AIDS, genital dermatology. Accompanying skills in the methods of laboratory diagnosis, individual and group counseling skills are also a part of the program.

Post Graduate Diploma in Venereology has an entrance test conducted at national or state level as the requirements for admission. Some of the entrance examinations which are considered are NEET-PG, AIIMS PG, JIPMER PG, PGI Chandigarh entrance exam, DDVL (Diplomate of National Board) Exam conducted by NBE and the various state level postgraduate medical entrance exams. Admission to this diploma programme is given based on marks scored in the entrance test and further counselling.

PG Diploma in Venereology Course Eligibility 2024

1. MBBS qualification or any other medical qualification that is recognized by the Medical Council of India.

2. Rotating internship for one year in a hospital recognized by the Medical Council after passing MBBS degree. 

3. Original passing certificate of MBBS degree along with permanent/ provisional registration certificate as registered medical practitioner issued by MCI /State Medical Council. 

4. Obtained requisite percentile in NEET-PG entrance examination as a minimum qualifying criteria for admission.

5. FMGE is a screening test for MBBS graduates qualified from any country other than India and all the candidates who completed their MBBS from any foreign country must have passed this examination.

6. Must meet any other requirements stipulated by the institute offering the Post Graduate Diploma program.
