The FMGE also referred to as the Foreign Medical Graduates Licensing Examination is a licensing examination administered by the NBE in India. AIIMS is used as a screening test for the Indian citizens and overseas citizens of India who have qualified the medical college from outside the India. It serves to check whether these foreign medical graduates are in tuned with what is current in terms of knowledge and skills in order to practice medicine in India.
The computer based FMGE test consists of 300 questions of multiple types which checks graduates on a number of areas including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, microbiology, ear nose and throat, eye and more community medicine and others. Year-wise performance in passing the exam has been average – 43% pass percentage in the June 2022 exam.

1. Go to NBE website with the URL www.natboard.edu.in and then click on FMGE application
2. Open an account and complete the users’ registration with personal and academic informations
3. To scan physical documents such as photograph or degree certificates and upload them.
4. This can be done both offline and online through credit/debit card or through net banking.
5. However, the applicant must download and print the application and admit card after its approval.
6. Recent exam at the center assigned on the date mentioned along with the admit card.

1. Registration - To register to the FMGE exam you need to access the official website of NBE and click on the FMGE registration link. To start, begin by entering your personal information and creating an account for yourself.
2. Image Upload – The applicants are required to upload scanned images of the passport size photograph, signature, and thumb impression as per the recommended format.
3. Employment Information – Enter the required information for name, address, contact information, education, work experience, and other important data in the form. Subtasks: Do not proceed until you have checked all the details.
4. Select Exam City: The candidate can select any three cities of choice for the FMGE examination center as desired. They are distributed on first come, first served basis whereby, the cities are assigned depending on the order in which they are requested.
5. Exam Fee – Remit the FMGE Fee for application and examination through Credit card , debit card or net banking. General category charge is Rs. 7,080 only.
6. Print Application – After successful fee payment, candidates will get an opportunity to download the print out of the filled application form. Write the name of the candidate, attach a passport size photo and sign the space provided in the form.
7. Submit the documents – It is recommended that the completed application form be accompanied by all the necessary supporting documents to the given address not later the due date. The reference information bulletin for the list of the documents is needed.
8. Admit card Once the admit cards are released image admit card can be downloaded from the official website of NBE. You need to take 2-3 print outs and take that for the exam hall along with an original ID proof.
