GCET is the State Level Entrance Examination conducted by Directorate of Technical Education under the Government of Goa for providing admissions into professional degree courses provided in the colleges of Goa. The GCET exam questions students about the subjects as per the courses for which they are applying for admission such as physics chemistry mathematics biology etc. GCET major courses taken up are engineering, pharmacy, architecture and management.
The GCET examination is conducted in general at Second or Third week of May of every year and results declared within one month. I have gathered that the GCET 2024 exam may take place in the third or fourth week of May. Next comes the provision of answer keys by the board, which is then followed by the declaration of the results wherein the percentile score and the rank of the students are stated. This rank is taken into consideration during the counselling and seat allotment process of the colleges. GCET score is accepted by Government as well as Government Aided Colleges in Goa and some Private Unaided Colleges also for admission. But keeping in mind that Goa has some premier institutes, the competition for GCET is high and the preparation should be done over a period of 10-12 months.
