JoSAA Exam 2024: Syllabus, Exam Date, Eligibility

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) jointly undertakes admission process for 114 institutes for a particular academic session. It is the official to control and coordinate the joint seat for admission to different IIT’s, NIT’s, IIEST, IIITs and Other-GFTIs for the year. The allocation is an online process. A total of 1,200 students will be offered lateral entry admission in the IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs and Other-GFTIs by JoSAA depending on the options given by the candidates who have a valid JEE (Main) rank. 

The JoSAA counselling 2024 registration is likely to start in the last week of June 2024 or after the declaration of JEE Main 2024 result. The first mock seat allotment result shall be made available in the second week of July and the actual one is to be made available within two days of the reckoning of the mock list. JoSAA seat allotment is done in five rounds. The overall counselling process is completed by the mid of August 2024. Candidates are also privileged to select, rank and choose the seats in accordance to their own preference. The idea in this case is to assign the seats based on merit, preferences, and available space in the train. They signify the institute and program assigned to the candidate as Information Technology Institute and Bachelor of Information Technology respectively.

How to Apply for JoSAA Exam 2024?

1. Go to the official website of JoSAA and then click on the registration tab. 

2. Establish your login details to get a username and password to proceed with the online application form.

3. All the personal details, academic information and contact information must be filled in meticulously and completely.

4. These should be scanned and uploaded as per the guidelines that are outlined by the different universities.

5. Choose your exam centers for a particular year from the available ones.

6. It is advised to make the application fee payment through electronic mode.

7. Make sure that you have correctly filled all the information required and complete the JoSAA application form. 

8. Save the last page of the form when the form data is confirmed to have been submitted successfully.

JoSAA Exam Preparation Tips 2024

1. Learn every aspect of the exam - Know the layout of the exam, the number of questions, the type of questions, what topics are covered, and so on. This way, you can prepare yourself for the exam in the best manner.

2. Notes and revision: Take notes on what is taught in class or found in textbooks or other relevant material needed for revision. These notes should be revised from time to time in order to refresh those pieces of knowledge.

3. Solve previous years papers – It is beneficial to solve the papers of previous years as you come to know about the kind of questions that are set and the level of difficulty they possess. It will also assist you in identifying topically recurring questions.

4. Practice parts you are good at and those that you have challenges with - This helps in identifying areas that require more effort. Spend more of your time trying to improve the skills that you have that are not strong enough.

5. Practice mock tests – These assist in making you exam oriented. It will help to develop discipline and teach you how to manage your time effectively. Reflect on your paper submission to see where to improve on.

6. Bare all your basics and concepts – Bring perfect clarity for the basics and concepts of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Spend some time practicing problem areas as many questions are frequently based on the basics.
