Pre IELTS is an English proficiency test widely used for admission and placement by most of the colleges and universities of India. It evaluates the English proficiency of a student by testing his/her reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. By now, the PIET is regarded as being on the same level of difficulty as such global tests as TOEFL or IELTS.
The PIET exam is taken in different instances throughout the year and may include both paper-based and computer-based tests. The examination dates for future years are still unknown, while potential exam dates for the year 2024 are as follows: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, and November. The registration is made online via the official website and that is possible upto 1-2 months before the date of the examination. It takes about 2-3 weeks on average for the results to be released to the students.

1. Review the requirements for being qualified to take an examination in PIET. To become eligible for any of the course, you are supposed to have passed 12th standard in science stream with minimum 50% marks.
2. This means that you should apply for admission into PIET when notifications are out by filling an online application form in 2023. Application forms are available at the university’s official website in case you would like to apply online.
3. Deposit the application fees through the internet. General category candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 800 while the candidates belonging to SC/ST category are required to pay an application fee of Rs 400.
4. To resize the images, upload scanned images of the photograph, signature, and caste certificate (if applicable), etc.
5. The user is supposed to download and print the confirmation page which contains the application number for future usage.
6. To access the admit card when it is available for download, go to the website. Exam admit cards are usually available 1-2 weeks prior to the date of the exam.
7. Sit for the PIET exam at the given date and center location with the admit card and proper identification document.
8. As mentioned earlier, PICT is usually administered in the month of May of each year. The exam date of PIET 2024 is expected to be released in the official website, the original date is yet to be published.
9. After the result is declared, one should check it on the website after the exam has been taken. Based on the results of the aptitude test, the selected candidates can proceed to counseling and admission process.
- 10th and 12th mark sheets and passing certificates: You will also be required to attach the scanned copies of your Mark Sheets and Passing Certificates of 10th and 12th standard examination.
- Recent passport size photograph: A passport size picture taken within the last month of any of the said application forms is mandatory.
- Valid photo ID proof: For identification you will need to upload any of the government-issued photo ID proof such as Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, etc.
- Residence/domicile certificate: In majority of the cases, it is mandatory to produce a residence proof or domicile certificate to demonstrate your state of domicile. Another proof of residence can be an address of a ration card or Aadhar card.
- Caste certificate (if applicable): If you fall under the reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC, then you need to submit the caste certificate.
- Income certificate (for fee exemption if needed): If you are interested in being exempted from fees, you may be asked to produce an income statement.
- Online application form: To obtain the admission in the respective courses, one has to complete the online application form of PIET and attach the scanned copies of the documents.
