TANCET is the abbreviation for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test. It is the statewide level entrance examination conducted under the leadership of Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the government of Tamil Nadu. TANCET aims at guiding the students to the postgraduate courses such as MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech, M.Arch, and M.Plan which are offered in the colleges which are having the state government as the promoter, aided by the state government and self financing. This is for the postgraduate courses being offered in Tamil Nadu. 

TANCET is a quantitative aptitude based exam that aims at finding out the level of competence, conceptual knowledge, problemsolving abilities, and specific domain streams of a candidate in domains such as management, computer applications and engineering, architecture and planning. ‘The paper is in format of multiple-choice question with 100 in number, which covers quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, data interpretation, English aptitude, and general awareness. Scoring system marks correct answers +1 and incorrect ones -0.25.

How to Apply for TANCET Exam 2024?

1. The Online Registration Form & Application Form.

- Once the registration portal is activated, visit the official TANCET website (www.tancet.com).

- Create an account by register and then put in your vital information.

- Upon completion of the registration process, ensure that you fill in the relevant boxes correctly in the TANCET application form. Present the details about you, like who you are, your interests, academic performances, and communication skills.

2. Uploading Documents

- Provide clear scanned copies of your photograph, signature, community certificate (if necessary) and other required documents as per the instruction.

3. Application Fee Payment 

- This can be done by paying the application fee through giving your credit/debit card details, online bank account details or UPI. Website is re-updated with the fee details of applications.

4. Print Application Form

- Use the print-out option to have a hard version, probably for future use, after submitting the application form.

5. Exam Center Selection

- Choose the testing facilities to visit when filling the enrollment form. The allocation policy of the center is classified by the first-come-first-serve. 

6. Admit Card

- As the admit card will be available online only, download it as soon as it is issued. Invite card presented is a must document for entering the hall.

- Disabled (PWD) certifications (for applicants with disabilities):

- B.E./B.Tech. degree certificate and consolidated mark statement (for Integrated Master’s/M.Tech students).

- Provisional certificate certificate (certificate of study if bachelor degree certificate has not been released yet).

- Certificate of Post-Matric Scholarship (if any obtained) 

- The nativity/residential certificate, for TN candidates.

- Id-sized color snapshot.

- Scanned signature
