Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is one of the agricultural university situated in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh state of India there have many departments to provide education in undergraduate and postgraduate level in agricultural streams. These main divisions are Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture Business Management, Basic Science & Humanities. The eligibility criteria differs with the department and the program- For BSc programs, candidates need to have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Maths as subjects and have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. For admission across the BSc stream, entrance tests like EAMCET, ICAR, and the university level test are considered valid. Admission to most MSc programs would need the candidates to have a BSc degree in the right stream with not less than 55% pass. Universities exams are other exams that are in the category of exams that are being offered.
The various major streams/courses provided at the UG and PG levels are Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Food Processing and Technology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Marketing, Genetics and Seed science, Entomology and Plant pathology, Extension Education, Agronomy, Soil science and Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Statistics, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries Management etc. Some of the entrance examination which will be conducted in the year 2024 for admissions in the first year of B.Tech, B.V.Sc & AH, B.F.Sc courses are EAMCET in the 1 st week of May, ICAR in the 1st week of July and University examinations in the last week of June. The application process begins during the month of March every year for both the national and university level entrance examination. Counseling of a candidate is done based on the scores obtained in entrance examination. Seats are very scarce in this university and the openings for the courses such as BSc Agriculture, BSc Horticulture, BTech Agricultural Engineering are extremely constrained.
