The Agriculture University Jodhpur (AUJ) is a State University which comes under Rajasthan state. It was established in 2013 and it is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). AUJ has received NAAC accreditation grade ‘A’ in the year 2022. According to NIRF ranking 2023, AUJ falls in the band of 101-150 Agricultural Universities in India.
The university provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the areas of agriculture, food processing technology, dairy technology, home science, and basic sciences. Some of them are; BSc Agriculture, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, B.Tech Agricultural Engineering, MSc and MTech in different fields. The admission process begins in the month of May every year. The candidates those who are interested they can apply for the post in online or offline mode only the last date. On merit basis, entrance examination and counseling are conducted for admissions in the particular course. Admission based exams include REET and PET. The next admission cycle is slated to begin in May 2024 for the 2024-25 batch.
AUJ has also a very vibrant placement cell through which students are placed with reputable companies. Some of the well-known recruiters are Amul, Mother Dairy, Britannia, Parle, ITC, Reliance Retail, JK Agri Genetics, UPL etc More than 80 companies visit the campus every year for placement. The salary package provided by the companies are highest up to ?10,00,000 per annum and average salary packages varying between ? 4-?6 Lakhs. More than 85% of the students are placed in various companies through campus and off-campus recruitment. The fact that the institution has been placing most of its students in these positions shows that the education and training offered in AUJ is of high quality.

1. BSc Agriculture: Pass in 10+2 in science stream with minimum 50 percent marks. Basic requirements include: – Good academic background in biology, chemistry and agriculture preferred.
2. MSc Agriculture: Education: The candidate must be a Bachelor of Agriculture or any other relevant field with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University. Admission is on merit basis also on entrance examination/test.
3. BTech Agriculture: Science stream 10+2 with minimum 50% in PCM. Agricultural knowledge and minimal computer literacy are required.
4. PhD Agriculture: Pass in Master’s degree examination with at least 55 % of marks. preferably the candidate should have good academic background and should possess adequate research skills. Selected through entrance exam/interview.
5. Diploma Agriculture: 10th grade pass with a minimum of 50 percent marks. Agrarian sector knowledge and interest is needed.
6. Agriculture Training: For short term agriculture training, candidates with 10th grade pass with interest in farming and allied sectors are eligible.
Agriculture universities provide the students with number of programs that are associated with the agricultural and food sectors. Some of the well-known undergraduate degree courses include agronomy, horticulture, animal science, agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, food science, and others. Masters’ degree may offer areas of specialization such as plant breeding, soil science, dairy technology, meat technology, agricultural extension, etc.
