Alagappa University is state university established in the year 1985 at the Karaikudi town in the Tamil Nadu state of India. It was founded in the year 1985 and is affiliated to the university grant commission and has been accredited by NAAC, with grade ‘A’. In the 2023 NIRF rankings, Alagappa University was the 76th university in India.
It comprises various universities and colleges and allows students to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees across faculties such as arts, science, education, physical education, management, and engineering. Some of the most chosen and common courses are the undergraduate courses like BA, BSc, BCom, BBA and the post graduate courses like MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MCA, ME and the Ph.D. courses. Normally semester end examinations are held during November-December and April-May each year. The admission tests and forms for the new session 2024 will be available from May 2023. By the university’s website there are online forms where one can apply or there are also hard copy forms that can be filled at designated offices.
The university has had a great run in terms of placements as compared to other universities in the country. Some of the leading IT giants like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys has offered placements to students in all branches. The maximum salary package provided was on an average of about 18 lakh and the lowest salary package was between 4 to 6 lakh per annum. The placement rate for the academic year 2021-22 was more than 85% where more than 500 students have placed in IT, analytics, banking and financial services, consulting, manufacturing firms. Alagappa University Placements 2024
Alagappa University has been having fairly good placement record where more than half of the students got selected to various reputed companies every academic year. The best companies for the campus recruitment include Infosys, TCS, Cognizant and Wipro who offer placements to the students. The highest salary package of Rs. 12 LPA was offered by PayPal during the placement recorded in the year 2022 and the average salary package was Rs. 4.5 LPA. Some of the other major recruiters are, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra and Larsen & Toubro Infotech. More than 70 companies have visited for the campus placement offering opportunities in areas like IT, Core Engineering, Banking and Analytics. The university has an infinite number of students and has very good industry ties in the future University is planning to achieve 80 percent placements in the coming years.
