AIIMS Kalyani is one of the new AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) which has been established by the Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. It is accredited by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. While AIIMS Kalyani could well be said to be a new entrant into the field of medical education, it has been steadily making its mark. The NIRF ranking of AIIMS Kalyani for the year 2023 has placed it at 17th position among medical colleges.
The institute has a rich tradition of providing quality education in medical field in different disciplines. The major courses are MBBS, MD, MS, DM and MCh and other health related programmes in nursing, para-medical and allied health sciences. The MBBS programme offers admissions to the students based on their performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate. For other courses such as MD, MS, DM, AIIMS Kalyani holds its own entrance examination every May/June. The admission procedure is highly rigorous and thousands of students apply for it annually. Student intake falls between fifty for MBBS to ten to fifteen for DM/MCh courses. The next entrance examination and admission process is likely to be held in May-July 2024 for the academic year starting in the year 2024.

1. For MBBS: Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Age limitation: Should be 17 years and above as on 31st December of the admission year. This is one qualification that the candidate must have qualified in the NEET exam.
2. For MD/MS courses: Applicants must be from a recognized institute/university and should be MBBS degree holder. Minimum 55% marks required in MBBS. Must have served one year compulsory internship. Entrance examination which is conducted by AIIMS is mandatory and they must qualify it.
3. For DM/M.Chsuper courses: Candidate must possess post graduate degree, MS/MD in a relevant subject. Minimum 2 years experience in respective postgraduate subject discipline in a recognized institution after PG degree required for the post. Must qualify entrance exam.
4. For M.Sc Nursing: The applicant must have passed B.Sc Nursing /B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum 55% in aggregate. They must have also been through the internship program. Must have registered nurse midwife qualification.
5. For B.Sc Paramedical courses: Completed the class 12th or any equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as subjects and have obtained 50% or above marks in these subjects from a recognized board of education. Admission criteria should include a minimum age of 17 years.
