Assam University Silchar (AUS) is one of the central universities of India established in Silchar city of Assam. AUS was established in 1994 and is accredited by the UGC and has been awarded Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The NIRF Rankings of the AUS has been revealed recently and as per the NIRF Rankings 2023, the university falls in band 101-150 universities in India.
Assam University is a reputable institution that provides numerous programmes at the undergraduate, masters and doctorate levels in various fields of study. Some of the disciplines of study include BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, integrated masters, BTech, LLB, PhD etc There are national and state level entrance examination for the admission in these courses. As for the 2024 batch, candidates are expected to submit the application as soon as the notification comes out in February-March 2023. The new session for the entrance examinations will be held in the period of April-May 2023 and the results will be declared in the month of June 2023 for the new academic session to be commenced from August 2023.
AUS has an active placement and training cell that helps many companies to get the required students for jobs. Some of the leading recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Byjus, Ernst and Young, ICICI Bank with job offers to AUS students. Salary being offered to BTech and MBA graduates can be between 4-7 LPA, while the sky-high salary could range from 15 LPA and even more in some cases.

Assam University Placements 2024
The Assam University Silchar also gets a good enough placements every year. Some of the placing companies are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte and Tech Mahindra which come to the campus to recruit students. The maximum offered salary package in the previous year offered by a consulting firm of 10 LPA and the average package offered was around 4-5 LPA. The placement record of eligible students was satisfactory, as 60-70% of the student got placed through campus placements only. Although it focuses on the IT/software sectors, students from other fields of study like analytics, finance, marketing, etc.
