Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, commonly known as BBAU, was established as a public central university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. BBAU was set up in 1996 and is currently graded A by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). However, in the NIRF ranking released in 2023, BBAU has been ranked at 91 in the university category in India.
The university provides a broad spectrum of academic and research programs at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral level in various fields of study. Some of the most common courses offered by these universities are the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Commerce (MCom), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Technology (M Tech), and the integrated law programmes. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or similar examination from any known board with qualifying marks as per course norms. For the general category candidates, the minimum percentage of marks needed are in the range of 55-60% of the aggregate.
2. For the programs such as BA, BCom, BSc the minimum percentage of score for the general category candidates is 55% in 10+2 level. While admission criteria for technical and professional programs including engineering courses require minimum 60% marks.
3. The reserved category candidates such as SC, ST, OBC would be given 5% marks relaxation in the minimum desirable percentage in the 10+2 examinations. PWD candidates also get 5% relaxation The relaxation given to the PWD candidates is 5% passing marks.
4. Candidates who are studying 10+2 standard are also eligible to apply for this RECP. But they are supposed to provide the marksheet which is needed for admission in the university.
5. Additional parameters may include such factors as the entrance test score requirement, which may be applicable to some programs only. It remains the responsibility of the applicants to monitor notifications of the respective programs.
6. Students pursuing their final year of degree courses can afford to take admission in post graduate programs. However, they must produce their degree completion certificate at the time of the first semester registration.
