Bangalore University, situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has many departments over various domains such as arts, Sciences, commerce, law, education, and many more offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The eligibility may differ from one department to another - for Bachelors of Arts one has to have cleared 12th exams and the aggregate percentage usually varies from 35%-45% and must be from a recognized board. Board exams as CBSE, ICSE, state boards etc are acceptable. For admission into Bachelors of Science, the candidate must have passed 12th Science stream pass with subject group of Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology; minimum percentage must be 50% in PCM/PCB. Bachelors of Commerce requires the passing of 12th standard in any stream with Mathematics/ Accountancy/ Commerce/ Economics as a subject. Minimum pass percentage refers to the percentage passing score of the 12th board which is between 35-40% of total. Applicants pursuing a law program require 45% in any undergraduate degree course while those pursuing education require 50% in undergraduate.

- PhD programmes are normally advertised through notices in the dailies and on university websites about a year or 6-12 months before the start of the session. If you are planning on applying for 2024 admission, it is advisable to wait till the end of 2023 or early 2024, when the advertisements are likely to be made.

- The key criterion of eligibility is possession of a master’s degree in the respective subject with the minimum percentage of marks that are required. There may be an aptitude test/entrance exam and then a face-to-face interview for selected candidates.

1. First, identify your desired colleges or universities that you would like to apply to.
