Bharathidasan University, is a University in the state of Tamil Nadu located in the city of Tiruchirappalli in the southern part of India. Founded in 1982, it is also Approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and was recently accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In the NIRF-2023, offering placements for its students, Bharathidasan University finds its position in the range of 101-150 Universities in the country. There are twenty-one research centers and nineteen academic departments in the university that offer, teaching, research and extension services in arts, sciences, engineering, technology, business and education. At the current time, the university has oversight for more than 180 affiliated college.
The university also provides different tuition programs to students across faculties and disciplines at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate level. Programmes of high demand are MBA, MCA, ME/MTech, MSc, MA, MCom and 5-year integrated courses MA. The admission process begins in May every year for merit list as well as entrance exam list also. Some of the entrance tests are TANCET for ME/MTech and GATE for MTech, TNPCEE for BEd, TANCEE for MBA/MCA and university test for other courses. Application forms are available in the month of May and examination date also comes along with that and counselling starts form July. New academic session generally starts from the month of August.
The Bharathidasan University has an official recruitment Cell for students to get placements after their completion of the course. TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, etc., are some of the big companies that come for campus placement drives Every year students from computer science IT, business administration, commerce, Economics, Biotechnology etc They get placements when companies visit the campus offering jobs. The median salary starts from 3-4 Lakhs per annum depending on the campus while the maximum salary offered can be up to 10 Lakhs in exceptional cases. The IT placement rate remains around 60-70 percent for the entire campus. Efforts are being made to enhance the industry-academia contact and to increase the placements.

Bharathidasan University has placed more than 70% of the eligible students in reputed companies which is a testimony of the healthy Industry linkages. More than 300 offer were made from companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro in 2021-22 academic year. Here the maximum salary offered was Rs.18 lakhs per annum in Nomura, a financial services group where the average salary of an employee was a decent Rs.4.2 lakhs per annum.
