Bihar Agricultural University is a state agriculture university which was set up only in 2010 and is situated at Bhagalpur, Bihar. UGC has given its nod to the SGT University and ICAR recognizes the university. The university has been accredited ‘B’ grade by NAAC As such, the university has put in place mechanisms for the assessment of students that are in line with the accreditation grade it received from the NAAC. According to the NIRF ranking 2023 the university is categorized under the band of 101-150 of agricultural universities in India.
It provides education at the Bachelors, Masters and Doctors degree level in the subjects related to agriculture, horticulture, forestry and other allied sciences. These are some of the important streams which are BSc Agriculture, BSc Horticulture, BTech Agriculture Engineering, MSc Agriculture, MBA Agribusiness and PhD programs. The UG and PG programs have centralized admission and the candidates are selected through the scores obtained in the entrance test in the state or country.

1. Candidates must have appeared in 10+2 examination in science stream and secured at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks.
2. For the BSc programs, student should have passed in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Maths/ Agriculture.
3. BTech requires subjects to be Physics, Chemistry and Math. Minimum 60% marks required
4. For MSc, candidate should have passed the related Bachelors degree with minimum of 50% mark.
5. For admission in PhD, the candidates must have passed post-graduation in relevant field with at least 55% marks.
6. Concessions in percentage as per the norms of the government for the reserved category students. This depends with the program to which the applicant is applying for and in most cases the age limit is always specified.
Bihar Agricultural University has always been beneficial in providing good placements to its students every year consistently. The maximum of the packages offered were 22 lakhs per annum from Reliance company. The compensation structure seemed to be average with the employees receiving approximately Rs 60000 per annum. Some of the top companies which actively participated in campus placements were Reliance, ITC, Cargill, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Adani Group and many more. Out of the total number of students, 65% students were placed in different fields of job opportunities including business development job, research and development job, agriculture job, banking and finance job.
