The central universities in India that has its campus in Gandhinagar, the capital city of the western Indian state of Gujarat. It was set up in 2009 and is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In the current year of 2022, CUG has got ‘A’ grade accredited by NAAC. In NIRF Rankings 2023, CUG was placed in rank 3 in the West zone and 101-150 band overall.
The following levels of study are pursued at the university: undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in an array of fields including arts, commerce, sciences, education, law, and other interdisciplinary areas. Some of the well-known programs are the general degree programs such as the BA, BCom, BSc, MA, MSc, MCom, LLB, and integrated programs. Most of the programmes have entrance test criteria which can either be at CUET level, CLAT level or a test conducted by the university itself. Central University of Gujarat Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Should have appeared for the 10+2 examination or any equivalent examination from a recognized board or university and must have secured a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
2. For UG programs, there are certain conditions; the students are required to qualify in the CUG entrance test or national level tests.
3. For admission to PG courses, one needs to have a graduation degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ differently-abled candidates).
4. For Ph.D, master’s degree is mandatory with minimum marks computed as per rules of the university/outside India along with qualifying exam.
5. For diploma and certificate programs tenth and twelfth standard examination or equivalent qualification is compulsory.
6. OBC/SC/ST candidates can avail reservations and relaxations as per government of India norms of each course.
Central University of Gujarat Placements 2024
The placement cell in Central University of Gujarat is notably responsible for arranging campus interviews to recruit the final year students. Employment opportunities available for CUG graduates comprise of Companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, L&T Infotech among others. Higher salary package given for the year 2023 was 18 lakh per annum offered by American Express. The salary package that was offered to the students was around Rs 6.5 Lakhs per annum on average 2023 batch has also proved its mettle as 75% of the batch got placed in various companies through off campus.
