The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) is a Central university established in the Ganderbal district of the Jammu and Kashmir state. CUK came into existence on 2009 under Central Universities Act of the year 2009, and within a short span of time, it has carved a niche for it self in providing quality education to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
CUK is officially affiliated to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been accredited at grade ‘A’ in its National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) rating. In the NIRF rankings 2023, it was placed in the 101-150 band with respect to universities in India.

Central University of Kashmir Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Candidates should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a pass in the examination and with the minimum percentage of 50% marks in the examination for General candidates and 45% for the SC/ST/PWD category. In this case, each subject has different requirements depending on programs to be taken.
2. For BTech programs, must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for B Tech programmes. Minimum aggregate percentage may not be applicable for a particular program and it may vary from program to program.
3. For the programs like BA, BSc, BCom the applicant should have passed the 10+2 examination in the relevant stream. Arts – Students pursuing a BA should take courses in the Arts and Humanities; Science – Students pursuing a BSc should take courses in Science; Commerce /Mathematics – Students pursuing BCom should take courses in Commerce and Mathematics.
4. For the MA, MSc, MCom programs, the candidate must have passed the respective bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with the minimum percentage of marks required for admission.
5. For MTech programs, candidate should have passed in the BTech/ BE examination in the related specialization with the required percentage of marks from a recognized university.

The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has an active placement section through which many reputable companies carry out interviews and recruit final year students. Some of the companies that have placement opportunities in CUK are the Tata consultancies services, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant and among others. As for salary offers, CUK offered up to an annual salary package of Rs 10 lakh to the highest paid employee. The salary offered to the students is moderate with the average salary package of rs 4–6 lakhs per annum. In 2022, the number of students who got placed through campus interviews was above 60 percent of the eligible students.
