CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Palampur is one of the premier agricultural universities in Himachal Pradesh, established in 1978. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with an A Grade by NAAC. In the NIRF Rankings 2023 Being an agricultural university CSKHPKV Palampur has secured its position at 65th position in India.
The university presents a wide range of degree programs for the students including undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies in agriculture, horticulture, basic sciences and humanities. Some of the courses include BSc Agriculture, BSc Horticulture, MSc Agriculture in Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, MBA Agribusiness and BTech Food Technology.
CSKHPKV Palampur has been one of the most sought after colleges by many companies for placements as per the report of the latest placements of the graduates. This has made it possible for most companies to visit the campus during placement exercises to hire young talents. They are Godrej Agrovet, Dhanuka Agritech, Parle Biscuits, Field Fresh Foods, Mahindra Agri Solution and Nestle Foods India Ltd. Every year the campus drives provide placements to hundreds of students and salary packages offered range from 4-7 LPA on an average. The highest salary given has been up to 15 LPA.

Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya Palampur has witnessed a gradual increase in placement activities in the past years. Some of the main recruiters are ICAR, State Agriculture Departments, TNCs, MNCs, etc., which provide placements to 30-40% of the students. Other private players such as ITC, Godrej Agrovet, UPL and so on also offer employment opportunities to graduates for agribusiness, food technology and dairy engineering. The maximum package given in 2023 was 18 LPA by Rallis India while the minimum package was 4-6 LPA.
