It is an agricultural university in the Maharashtra state of India and its name is Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth (DBSKKV). It was established in the year 1972 and it has been accredited by NAAC- National Assessment and Accreditation Council and got ‘A’ grade. According to the NIRF ranking of agricultural universities in India released in 2023, DBSKKV stands at fifty first.

Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. The candidates also need to have passed the 10+2 or an equivalent examination and must have had Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as subjects and must have scored a minimum of 50% marks (45% for the reserved category) in the above examination for them to pursue an undergraduate degree programme.
2. For postgraduate programs candidate must have passed the Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University in the respective discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
3. For admission in PhD, the candidates must have master degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks in their master degree (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidate) and also they have to clear the entrance test as well as interview.
4. The admission requirements for undergraduate programs is minimum age of 17 years while there is no maximum age limit. Age requirement: For undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the minimum age required is 19 years.
5. Percentage relaxation is allowed to the students belonging to the reserved category as per the norms of the university and government policies for the concerned examinations.
6. University has the discretion to alter the requirements as offered for programs as per the current rules and notifications. All eligibility conditions should be met with at the time of admission for the candidates.
