DBRAU is a state university established in year 1996 located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India and named after Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University. It was set up in the year 1927 initially as Agra University and was later renamed as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University after the great social reformer in the year 1996. DBRAU is a recognized university under section ‘2(f)’ of the UGC Act and recognized by the Bar Council of India and is holding ‘B+’ grade accreditation from the NAAC. As per the newly released NIRF rankings 2023 of DBRAU it is ranked at 100 in the category of Universities in India.
DBRAU provides a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts, commerce, science, education, law, management and computer applications streams etc. The main courses that are taught include, undergraduate; BA, BCom, BSc, postgraduate: MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MCA, BEd, and LLB. The admission process for programmes to be offered in the next academic year of 2024 is expected to begin in May 2023. Aptitude tests are administered when the university opens its doors to admit certain programmes in May up to July.
