Dr. Homi Bhabha State University (HBSU) is a lately developed state university which is located in Maharashtra. Established in 2020, the Maharashtra Government has approved HBSU, which combines multiple government and government-aided colleges and institutions.
Himachal Bachelor of Science University, has emerged as a NAAC Grade A accredited university and has various undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D courses in the various faculties of science, arts, commerce, engineering, medicine and others. In the NIRF Rankings 2023, HBSU has found its place in the 8th position among all state universities present in India. At present, HBSU has more than 190 affiliated institutes, 2, 70, 000 plus students, and more than 7000 faculties and staff members, and the major objective of this university is to offer quality and affordable higher education in the state of Maharashtra.
HBSU provides different types of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in different fields. Candidates are selected through state-level centralized tests such as MHT CET, MAH MBA CET, MAH MCA CET or through institute wise tests. The academic session is of two semesters: First from June-November and Second from December- May Each semester ends with the examination in October/November & April/May respectively. It is anticipated that the application process for the 2024 academic year will commence in March 2023.

1. For admission to the bachelor degree courses the candidate needs to pass 10+2 examinations with minimum 50% marks. It is open to students from any stream science, commerce, art, etc.
2. For admission in master’s programs, the students must have a Bachelor degree in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university. Certain programs may have entrance exams.
3. The admission criteria for the Ph.D. and integrated Ph.D. programs is that the candidates possess a master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks. Candidates also need to clarify some of the entrance examination or test that the university is offering.
4. Candidate having passed 10+2 can apply for the courses that lead to a diploma. There are not so many diplomas that would call for a bachelors degree with minimum second class.
5. These certification courses are offered to 10+2 passed students as well as to the bachelor’s degree holders based on the certification.
6. For all programs, there is concessions in the minimum percentage of marks required for admission to the reserved category students as per government rules. The restrictions of age are different for distinct programs.
Dr. Homi Bhabha State University (HBSU) has numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs under humanities, sciences, commerce, engineering, pharmacy, and other faculties.
HBSU has more than 300 affiliated colleges and institutions spread across Maharashtra. Most programs require the candidate to sit for qualifying examinations, with an offer being granted on merit.
