The Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology at Shoolini University Solan has a range of programmes including BSc in biotechnology, botany, chemistry, food technology, microbiology, physics, and zoology. Eligibility details of these bachelors courses are that the student must have passed 10+2 in science stream with minimum of 50% aggregate from any recognized board. Students can apply through exams such as Shoolini entrance test, JEE Main, NEET, qualifying exams of different states education boards etc. Some of the most sought courses include BSc Honours in Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Zoology which have admission procedure based on marks obtained in 10+2.
The University provides under graduate and post graduate programs in faculties of Applied sciences and biotechnology, basic sciences, management and commerce, engineering and technology, pharmaceutical sciences, horticulture sciences, humanities and sciences, veterinary sciences and computer application. Intake for different courses is in the month of May each year. Shoolini test, JEE Mains, GATE etc entrance examination is conducted in the month of April May. National level examinations are also considered for admission in various faculty like NEET for BVSc programme, CLAT for law and CSIR-UGC-NET for Ph.D programmes. Details regarding the release of application forms for the 2024 academic session and counselling dates as well as the first admission list release will be announced by December 2023 on the University website alongside other important dates and requirements for the given courses where applicable.
The Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology at Shoolini University Solan currently offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programs in subjects such as biotechnology, microbiology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, etc. Students who wish to enroll in these programs can either apply online or through other conventional means.
The admission processes are as follows: The application may be done online by visiting the university’s website at www.shooliniuniversity.com. You have to go to the ‘Admission’ tab, choose the program of interest under the faculty of Applied Science and Biotechnology, complete the application form and attach the necessary documents. The application fee too can be paid online.
In the case of offline admission, candidates have to pick up the application form either personally from the university admissions office or through post. The forms duly completed accompanied with the photocopies of the documents required for qualifying examination, passport size photographs and the application fee should be deposited at the admission office latest by the prescribed date. Till here, any and all admission is provided one meets the set requirements, has the vacancies available, and passes the entrance test if any is applicable. Admission is based on previous class marks and then the counselling session is conducted.
- The admission process usually involves the marks obtained in the 12th standard exams or SAT (Shoolini Admission Test).
- Applications are usually accepted inApril/May and close in June/July for the admissions for the same year.
- B.Sc. courses that are offered include Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Food Science & Technology, Microbiology and Physics among others

- Apart from academics, some of the colleges/universities focus on other criteria such as extra-curricular activities, sports, interviews etc., during the admission process.
- In cases where the number of students offered the program is restricted such as the case of Biotechnology, the admission requirement will be more rigorous than the set cut-off marks.
- In Public funded institutions, there may also be restrictions and limitations as per government policies like reservation and quota.
1. Open the Shoolini University official website at www.shooliniuniversity.com and then search for the link labeled “Apply Now” or go to the admission page.
2. Choose the area of interest to apply for a program under the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology such as B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Microbiology, etc.
3. Please, click on the button “Apply Online” and you will be taken to the online application form.
4. Register a new account providing details such as the email ID and other necessary information. An OTP will be sent to the registered email address.
5. After signing in, complete the online application by entering your personal, academic, and contact information.
6. Scan your passport size photograph and attach required certificates such as 10th and 12th standard mark lists, Aadhaar card etc.
7. For the online application fee payment, the options available are net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
8. Before submitting the application, ensure you go through all the details very keenly. Click the button “Submit” to save the completed form and obtain a printed version of the form.
9. In case the candidate has been selected, he/she will receive an email/phone call to come and process the admission, documents submission, admission confirmation, fees payment etc.
