The Mathura,Uttar Pradesh based GLA University or Girijananda Vihari Academy which was established in the year 1998 is a private university. GLA U is approved by the University Grants Commission – UGC and accredited ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council – NAAC. The recently released NIRF Rankings 2023 reveal GLA University ranking at 41 out of all the universities in the country.
GLA is a multi-faculty university that operates faculties such as Engineering and Technology, Law, Humanities and Social Sciences, Applied and Life Sciences, Management Studies and Commerce, Fashion Studies, Education, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Agriculture Sciences and Engineering, as well as Physiotherapy. Some of the most preferred undergraduate programs are B. Tech, BBA, B.A., LLB, B.com, BCA. Seat intake depends on the competitive examinations at the national level such as JEE Main, CLAT and AILET. Admission to GLA also allows other state level tests for some courses, although they are highly competitive. Although exam dates differ depending on programs offered, the admission for the next academic year commences in February, year before the intended year of joining, for this case, 2024. The admission process to the program consists of online admission form, academic written test and group discussion/ interview.
GLA, therefore, boasts of well placed students due to its student-centric course structure. Ernst & Young, Flipkart, TCS, Genpact, Wipro, Google,Infosys, ICICI Bank, Citibank, etc are the few of the companies which have offered campus placements at GLA so far and approximately 550 companies have visited GLA for campus recruitment. More than 80% students have been placed with firms that offers average salary package of Rs. 5-7 lakhs per annum and the highest salary package of Rs. 32 lakhs per annum.

Mathura headquartered the GLA University has been consistently scoring high in placements. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant and Accenture are few of the reputed IT firms that visit the campus for placements and recruitment every year and the number of firms visiting the campus every year exceeds 500. The maximum offer in the placement drive was recorded to be Rs 42 LPA from Microsoft while the median salary offered was Rs 6.8 LPA.
