Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV) is a central university which was established in the year 2010 at Bilaspur in the state of Chhattisgarh in India. GGV was set up in 1983 and is accredited by the NAAC-A grade and situated in the state of Andhra Pradesh was ranked 101 to 150 in the NIRF rankings 2023. Under GGV, students can pursue undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral studies in their fields of choice. This is a central university and is recognized by the University Grants Commission.
It is an institution that provides courses in faculties of arts, commerce, education, engineering and technology, law, management studies, science and social science. Some of the courses that are offered by GGV include Business Technology and education, Business administration, Computer science and information technology, arts, social sciences sciences among others. Semester exams are conducted in the university in November-December and in May-June for each academic year. Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For undergraduate programs minimum educational requirement is 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with minimum percentage may differ as per the program selected. Subject requirements also vary.
2. For postgraduate programs, candidates must have a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and meet the minimum percentage as stated in the program of study. Certain programs have added prerequisites, but the general expectation is high.
3. For MPhil the candidate should have a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 55 % marks while for Ph.D., the candidate should have a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 55 % marks. It only requires that candidates pass an entrance examination before they can be interviewed.
4. For diploma and certification programs, only the candidates who have passed 10+2 level are considered eligible. There are programs that have prerequisites to the work experience of the learner.
5. Candidates who come under reserved categories have concessions in terms of eligibility as per government policies. Some of the programs offer special concessions and waivers to women candidates and defence category candidates.
