It’s Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) an autonomous university established for the law courses in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The college was set up in the year 2003 which is acknowledged by the Bar Council of India, authorized by the University Grants Commission and has been accredited at ‘A+’ grade by NAAC. In the new NIRF Rank released for the year 2023, HNLU has secured its position to be 17th among the leading law universities in India. 

As of now, the university provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different fields of law. The major courses offered to the undergraduate students include the three-year Bachelor of Arts in Law and the five year integrated Bachelor of Arts in Law. The courses offered at the postgraduate level include the one-year LLM programme with major concentrations on Corporate and Commercial Laws, Constitutional and Administrative Laws, and the likes, while the examinations for all the courses in HNLU are conducted in the months of November and May in a calendar year. The admission process to the academic session 2024 is likely to be started by May 2023. Hidayatullah National Law University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. It is mandatory to pass 10+2 examination and BA LLB programme requires passing certificate with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST) . It is mandatory that the applicant should have passed the 10+2 or any other equivalent examination. 

2. The LLM program is an advanced program for LLB degree holders. The minimum academic qualification for admission is a pass in the standard X examination and a minimum aggregate of fifty percent marks in standard XII or its equivalent examination for the general category and forty five percent for the SC/ST category. The candidate should have cleared Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) if any.

3. As mentioned above, the eligibility criteria for the PhD law programs is an LLM degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks and experience in teaching/research or working in premier law colleges/universities or any other recognized Universities. These additional requirements include passing the entrance test and an interview administered by the University. 

4. Some diploma courses like post-graduate diploma in cyber law and post-graduate diploma in intellectual property rights entail one to possessed an LLB degree. The least overall percentage required is 50 % for general category candidates.  

5. Certificate courses in areas of goods and services tax, telecom operations, data analytics, etc. require 10+2 pass certificate. There are no set lower limits on any of the percentages. This means that there are set criteria that have to be met for an individual to be hired or promoted.

The Hidayatullah National Law University or HNLU is a university specializing in law that confers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The 5-year BA LLB integrated course includes topics such as Constitution and Administration of Law, Study of Laws, Law of Contracts, Criminal Law, Code of Civil Procedure, Labour Laws, Taxation Laws, Environmental Laws, International Laws etc.
