The Himalayan Garhwal University was established in the year of 2016 located in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The university provides various under graduate and post graduate courses in science, commerce, arts, law, education etc. The academic requirement may differ from course to course. To be eligible for BSc a candidate must have given 12th examination with minimum 50% marks in science stream. BA course does need the 12th pass certificate in any field with minimum marks of 45%. BCom requires 12th certificate with 50% in commerce streams. However, LLB necessitates a bachelor’s degree in any field for admission with at least 50% marks. The BEd curriculum implies graduation in any field and passing in the 50% range. The University also admits students based on national level examination scores such as JEE Main, CMAT, LSAT, CTET, etc., as per the course.
The University has around 150 courses taught in 25 departments and 10 faculties. Some of the most sought programs are BTech, MTech, BSc, MSc, BA, MA, LLB, BEd, MEd, BPT, MPT, BPharm, DPharm, Nursing, Ayurveda, Unani, Yoga, Naturopathy, Tourism, Design, Fine Arts, performing Arts, Sanskrit, Psychology, social work, Library Science, Physical Education, Agriculture etc.
For online application, intending learners have to access the official HGU website through a web browser by typing hgu.ac.in. By navigating to the ‘Admission’ tab, then, let’s ‘Online Application’. First, you have to create an account of yourself by filling the necessary specifications. You will need to log in using your credentials and fill the admission application form. The candidate must upload scanned image of photograph and signature along with other certificates as per the size prescribed by the Company. The Himalayan Garhwal University situated in Garhwal contains various postgraduate courses and programmes in all fields. Being eligible depends on the particular department of the company. For an M.Sc. for subjects like Botany or Zoology, the students have to pursue B.Sc. in the respective subject of the stream with at least 50% marks. These exams include CSIR-NET, GATE or university level entrance examination as recognized by the university. For M.A. in English, the admission requirement is having a B.A. in English with at least 45% marks. These include UGC-NET, SET or the scores obtained in the university entrance examination. To have an M.Com, one requires a B.Com degree with minimum 50% average marks as the essential academic qualification. The Universities tests such as UGC-NET, CAT or MAT, CMAT etc or scores obtained in the examination are acceptable. To obtain an MBA one needs to possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline for 50% or more with accepted entrance tests being CAT, MAT, XAT etc. The university extends postgraduate programs in Science, Arts, Commerce, Management, and Computer Applications Stream.
The Himalayan Garhwal University in Garhwal offers higher courses like Ph.D courses in the following departments Management, Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science and many more. For the admission of PhD, the eligibility test mandatory is Master’s degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks. However, the qualifying examinations accepted for this purpose are UGC NET, GATE, SLET, JRF, or passing MPhil examination. Some departments also provide admission based on the performance in entrance test, work experience is also considered. Management department considers CAT/MAT/CMAT scores, Computer Science considers GATE score, while Science & Humanities departments consider CSIR/UGC NET score for eligibility of Ph.D.
