The Indian Insitute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is one of the Best MBA Schools in India. It is the oldest amongst the IIMs, which was established in 1973 and so far is the third one of its kind in the country. IIM Bangalore, with its globe-trotting faculty, research-centric curriculum, global exposure, and stellar campus placements is ranked among the top Indian management institutions. Such degree programmes like the postgraduate diploma in management which has reputation among all MBA programmes at Delhi. The PGPM is a 2-year full time residental program with a focus on enhancing analytical and leadership capabilities, while the 1-year PGPEM provides a unique blend of leadership and management skills demanded by the industry. A typical yearly held Common Admission Test (CAT) usually is conducted in the month of November to morrow professional courses of PGP and PGPEM. The CAT are still open for applications, but they typically happen in the last week of November. The CAT as well as GD/PI rounds after it-which would be in the 2024 intake -would be the qualifying exams for aspiring candidates for that year. Age Limit: No upper age boundary. Graduation is a compulsory requirement that all candidates must take before they can join the programme.
Academic Background: B.A or any other degrees. At least 50% aggregate marks or CGPA of 5 for the candidates from the general categories. Reservation category candidates relaxation.
Entrance Exams: Consider providing CAT/GMAT score validation. For all the section and overall cutoffs we have minimum subsistence criterion. Decision is made not only after consideration of test results, academical performance, work experience, but also own personal interests and aspirations.
Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of full-time work experience required after graduation for individuals to be eligible for application as on date. Prior experience of 4+ years can potentially lead to the higher possibility of selection. Alternatively, freshers can participate also as long as they apply with the scores of the test and academics.
Other Criteria: No exception made for students missing academic goals in the future. In addition to this, highly developed communication skills, leadership and organizational abilities, strong participation in student activities as well as other qualities, also evaluated.
- The entrance marks CAT scores. The TCo is the cut-off for CAT for candidates to be considered by IIMB for the next phase of the admission process.
- Selected ones will be called for a PI session (which carries a high weightage in the selection).
- Evaluation at IIM-B beside PI consists fitness in academic merit, work experience, co-curricular activities etc.
- Apart from the flagship two-year full time Post Graduate Programme (PGP) program, it is a must for work experience for getting shortlisted in the selection process. The newcomers are allowed to apply to the two-semester program which aims to achieve MBA degree.
- IIMB adopts a holistic multi-stage admission procedure that consists not only of CAT score results but also generally includes WAT, PI, and RC tests.
- Selections are made from the final merit list that is based on the composite score obtained by a candidate for all the components which are- CAT, Academics, Work - Experience, PI & Essays.
- There exists the critical and tough selection criteria process that required caring about a large number of parameters and also selecting the best fitting candidates for the small number of seats available.
