IIT Guwahati is a public technical university in India and a part of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) system of higher education. It was founded in 1994 as one of the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology set up to act as centers of excellence in research and training in science, engineering and technology in India. IIT Guwahati is a statutory institute established under the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 and is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Grade ‘A++’ was accorded to it by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). According to the latest NIRF rankings published recently, the IIT Guwahati has been placed 8 among all Engineering colleges in India.
IIT Guwahati Provides Undergraduate , Post graduate and doctoral programs in Engineering and Physical Science Biological Science & humanities and Social science. Notable programmes are BTech, MTech, MSc, MA, MDes and PhD. For BTech candidates have to appear and qualify in JEE Advanced for admission while for other programmes candidates have to appear in the national level tests and then go through an interview process. The admission process for the 2024 academic session is likely to commence around march-april 2024. GATE and CEED are the entrance tests for the post graduate courses which will be held during the month of January/ February 2024.
IIT Guwahati offers significant placements and internships for its students. American university campus has over 170 companies involving in campus placement every year such as Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, Texas instrument, Samsung etc, and most of the students get placed that is 85% ratio.
