The IIITDM is one among the few technological institutions in India is specifically catering the need for design and manufacturing education. IIITDM was founded in 2007 and recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Indian Parliament. It has been accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and it stands at a high rank with an ‘A’ grade which signifies that its teaching and research facilities are excellent. More recently, in the NIRF rankings that were released for the year 2023, IIITDM was ranked 65 among all engineering institutes for India.
IIITDM has a wide range of programmes in design and manufacturing specializations and it includes Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD in computer science, electronics & communication, mechanical engineering, Computer Integrated design & manufacturing and much more. The admission process is mostly initiated in January each year for the BTech programmes where the students are admitted on the basis of national level entrance examination like JEE Mains; for the MTech programmes, the admission is offered to GATE qualified students. The tentative dates for the key examinations for admissions in 2024 are likely to come up by November 2023. This process focuses on merit, written tests that the candidate has to take and Interviews. It also consists of student and faculty exchange programme with various institutions of the world for the global exposure.

1. The eligibility criteria for the candidates who want to take admission in BTech programmes are that they should complete their 10+2 examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics as subjects and must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate.
2. For admission in MTech programs, the candidate must have a B.Tech/B.E degree in relevant branch of engineering like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics etc The candidate must have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
3. For PhD programs, the candidates should have MTech in engineering discipline of relevance with at least 60 percent aggregate marks or B Tech with exceptional academic background.
4. For sponsored PhD candidates, one needs at least 2 years of professional working experience and must meet the required degree programs.
5. For MDes programs, the candidates need to possess a first or a higher degree in design, engineering, architecture or disciplines with not less than 60% of the marks in aggregate.
6. There are supplementary tests and interviews that are done to all programs before the final decision regarding admission is made. It is subject as per Government of India norms with regards to reservation policies.
IIITDM Jabalpur is a technological university in Jabalpur, India was established in 1996 offers under graduate, post graduate, Ph.D. in various engineering disciplines with specialization in design and manufacturing.
