IIIT Tiruchirappalli (Indian Institute of Information Technology Tiruchirappalli) is an Institute which was established in the year 2013 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Government of Tamil Naidu and Industry collaborations. The pros of this degree program are that it is recognized by the UGC and approved by the AICTE. The college is accredited by the NAAC with Grade A and ranked 91 in NIRF 2023 in the category of engineering colleges.
The institute provides the BTech programs in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science & Business Systems. It also provides MTech and PhD programmes in Science and Engineering disciplines with multiple specialisations. Traditionally the admission process is from March every year. For BTech admissions the candidates are to take the JEE Main, after that they are offered admitted through counselling.
