Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is a leading medical college in New Delhi specializing in liver and gut diseases. ILBS was founded in the year 1987 and is accredited by the Government of India and the NAAC has granted it the ‘A’ grade. Based on the NIRF Rankings released in 2023, ILBS stood at 24th position among medical colleges in India.
ILBS, is an autonomous institute under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, offering cost-effective specialty care services in cases of liver and biliary ailments. As a large 400+ bed tertiary care institution, ILBS is equipped with the latest technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of Acute and Chronic Liver Diseases, Hepatic Tumours and Liver Transplantation. Several departments of ILBS are Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Transplant Hepatology, Minimal Access and Biliary Surgery, Radiodiagnosis, Anesthesiology and more. It has undergraduate programmes such as MBBS, in which there are 150 places annually, postgraduate courses, for instance, MD and MS with a total of 63 places per year, post doctoral fellowship programs and other certificate diploma programs. It has highly qualified faculties and conduct several awareness programs in the interest of liver and the importance of organ donation.

Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For DM/MCh programs, candidate must have MD/MS/DNB in related specialty with 1 year experience or a direct 6 year degree with thesis and 3 years experience.
2. For PDF fellowship for they must have completed their DM/MCh or have minimum 3 years experience after their MD/MS/DNB in related specialty.
3. MSc candidates must have BSc Nursing degree and one year experience in nursing, while PhD candidates require two years experience in nursing.
4. Candidates with the relevant paramedical diploma need to have their 12th standard pass in science stream.
5. For hospital management program, candidate should have passed at least any stream in their graduation and should have minimum 5 years of experience in any hospital.
6. For basic sciences PhD, candidate must have MSc or MD/MS qualification with National Eligibility Test qualification.
