IIIT Bangalore is a private university that operates independently and is affiliated with IT and computer science education and research. IIIT-B was established in the year 1999, it is affiliated to the Government of Karnataka and all its programs are accredited by AICTE. As per the NIRF Rankings 2023, IIIT-B has NAAC Grade A and is placed at the 37th rank in India.
IIIT-B has been offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in many disciplines including Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Data Science, Cybersecurity and others. They offer BTech in computer science, electronics and communication, data science, artificial intelligence & machine learning among others with admission through JEE Main, KCET, COMEDK among others. The maximum salary offered in 2023 was worth 48 LPA, and the median was 16.5 LPA. More than 80% students have been placed in reputed firms through the campus placements conducted by the college. Companies in consulting such as Mc Kinsey and BCG also recruit graduates from IIIT-B.

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB) has been maintaining excellent placement records for its students. It is noteworthy that Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Samsung R&D, and Cisco have been some of the premier recruiters from IIITB. For the year 2021, more than 160 companies came for conducting campus placements, and the maximum salary offered was 43.6 LPA in Tower Research Capital.
