Undergraduates may apply to any of the various courses offered by the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University in Hyderabad through the different departments and academic streams. The University features the School of Architecture and Planning and provides B.Arch.It offers undergraduate programmes such as B.Tech, B.Des, postgraduate programmes – M.Tech., M.Arch, M.Des and doctoral level – PhD. The eligibility for B.Arch. is passing class 12th with 50% aggregate or 3-year diploma in Architectural Assistantship with minimum 50% of marks. The B.Des degree offered by the School of Design includes Product Design, Apparel Design, Jewelry Design etc The admissions to the B.Des programme are open to those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent with 50% or more marks in aggregate. School of Building Science is one among the Schools of CBIT offering B.Tech in Building Science & Technology The eligibility criteria include a minimum 10+2 pass with 50% marks in any group with Mathematics as one of the subjects. The School of Management and Computer Sciences impart education in the field of B.Tech and M.Tech. Computer Science Engineering in the 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject for the Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent for Masters with minimum 50% marks as the requirement. The specific entrance tests are NATA, JEE Mains and state level common entrance tests for example APICET.
The university is currently admitting students for degree courses in Architecture, Design, Built Environment and Engineering such as Computer Science as well as Management and Humanities for the 2024 academic year. Some of the courses offerd are B.Arch, B.Des, B.Tech, B.M.Sc, M.Arch, M.Des, M.Tech, M.Planning among others in various disciplines. There are B.Arch and B.Tech entrance examination like NATA, Common entrance tests for UG courses like APICET for B.Tech programs and national level exams for B.Tech such as JEE Mains. The state level admissions will begin from the academic year 2024-25 from the month of May 2024 respectively, NATA exam will be conducted in the month of March to June-2024 and programs under national level examinations like JEE will be staring from April-2024. The complete admission process includes registration for the examinations, the entrance examinations themselves, counselling and a final admission. The university is an active one with outstanding physical amenities and many activities taking place on campus.
For online application, the candidates have to go through the JNAFAU website address: www.jnafau.ac.in and select the admission link. They have to register themselves through entry of their biodata, completion of application form, and submission of necessary documents. An application fee also needs to be paid online;
In case of offline application candidates can get the application form through post by remitting the demand draft of the said amount or get it from the university office directly. The completed form must be sent to the designated office together with documents in photocopy, and fee in the form of demand draft or challan.
The university has provisions for admission through merit in national/state level exams or entrance tests as conducted by the university. In case of final admissions, counseling sessions are conducted prior to the final list. Documents Required for Admission in JNAFAU Hyderabad for Different Courses:
1. Any 10+2 passed in any stream from a recognized/recognized Board.
2. Minimum 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 examination conducted by the respective boards (45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD category students).
3. Attaining a passing score in an entrance examination administered by the university to determine the student’s art ability in the BFA program. This is in a form of drawing test to determine skills in this area, sense of proportion, perspective etc.
4. Examining the candidates before a selection committee in an interview of their interests, attitude, and general fitness for the program.
5. Presenting a set of 5-10 works created exclusively by the candidate in the field of art. Although it is in the form of a portfolio, the work is graded on the basis of skill, technique, creativity etc.
1. Ensure compliance with the set standards - Ensure you are qualified to be admitted to JNAFAU and meet the set requirements for admission to the BFA program as per the set standards such as education level, age, among others.
2. Application form – It is normally found on the university’s online website or it can be obtained physically from the university’s admission office.
3. Fill application form - Particular care should be taken to complete the application form accurately and fill in all necessary information such as First Name, Last Name, Address, Phone number, E-mail address, Previous Academic Record, etc.
4. Documents to be uploaded: There will be some documents that you will be supposed to upload along with the application form for your admission. This generally involves attaching copy of the 10th and 12th mark sheets, birth certificate, ID proof etc., should be attached and these should be self attested.
5. Pay application fees – Depending on the institution you are applying to, there will most probably be an application/registration fees to be paid. It can be paid online; paying through a challan payment generated at the various branches of banks or through Demand Draft.

3. Portfolio – The TOEFL applicants are required to enclose copies of their previous work in architecture as part of their application. This has a implication in the process of staffing.
4. Interview: The candidates who have applied for the job are shortlisted and they are invited for an interview so that the employer could gauge their interests, attitude, ideas and approach to work. The interview process plays a critical role in the overall process of the selection of candidates.
5. Relevant work experience – Those who have prior work experience in the field of architecture are also preferred as they are selected in the process of recruitment.

7. Wait for application response – Once you are offered a place, you will be sent an admission letter/email by JNAFAU. Otherwise, continue monitoring the application status through the admission portal.
